Sleeping in Grindelwald

Will be arriving in Grindelwald in early September by train. Wondering if anyone has a suggestion for a hotel or apartment that is centrally located since we (two of us) will be walking everywhere.

These boards are great. I have read them for years and used some useful information that I have seen posted. This is the first time I have requested info. I thank those who have responded to my other questions i have asked.

Hard to believe it's been almost seven years since we visited Grindelwald, but link to report with photos is below as well as a link to the hotel (which we liked) below that. If someone has been to Hotel Gletschergarten recently, perhaps they will post here.

Feel free to leave a comment on my website , too. Have a great trip.

Oddly enough, it's been seven years since we stayed in Grindelwald too, although we've visited since then.

We liked the Hotel Eiger, which is centrally located on the main drag in Grindelwald. We had one of their apartments, toward the back of the complex, but it was basically just a room with a fridge and coffee making facilities. The hotel is a short walk from the train station. We ate a couple of good meals in their bistro too.

It does not compute.

Jaba - We didn't stay at the Gletschergarten, but had dinner there, which was very good. Staff was very friendly. I always admire their beautiful geraniums on their balconies. If you're concerned about street noise, ask for another exposure.

We rented an apartment from Hotel Kirchbuhl and loved it. Our apartment was at the outer edges of Grindelwald and very quiet. It was lovely with a great balcony with incredible views of the mountains. They have several apartments of different sizes. We walked into town or to the Hotel for dinners, it was an easy walk.
