Sleeper costs-private for 2?

I can't determine the price from Venice to Vienna on the overnight train in a private sleeper for 2.

Try this site under point to point ticket: http://www.raileurope.com/us/

I tried that site before but cannot figure out the price of private sleeper for 2. Do you add the sleeper cost to the fair? Is the one for just 2 people in first class or can you get that in 2nd class?

Don if you want to get an exact price, you can call Rail Europe, their phone number is listed on their web site, I believe. We reserve 1st class sleepers for 2 quite alot and here is what you pay for: The point to point fare per person, plus the supliment for the sleeper (I believe that it also is per person.) (or couchette or 2nd class sleeper) plus a nominal charge for the reservations themselves (again per reservation) when you book through Rail europe.
The first class sleepers I've taken are two, narrow folding bunk beds. There is a tiny sink that doubles as a table in the corner and the breakfasts on the train are terrible! Only worth it if you, like we are, are addicted to coffee.

Don,

Also you may want to try checking out the site (www.sncf.com) although it is in French, there is an English version of the site. You have to scroll down, and then go to "plan your trip" (or something like this) and then to "booking and fares". It should give you the options and price differences for the different overnight cars. Just make sure you plug in and choose a later time --because the day trains won't offer this option. It looks like you can reserve and book for your particular choice if you like.

Patricia

Where are you, Ben?

I ball park figure for this trip on the EuroNight 239, Don, is something around US$ 260 for both of you if bought in Italy. RailEurope should charge considerably more.

Paulo
