SLEEP FOR CHEAP IN PARIS
I´ve never been to Paris, but I´ve heard that hotels rates are tremendous and I leave next month.
ANY RECOMENDATION?? |
Carlos, Go down 1/2 page and see the title "Paris Hotels" and there are many many responses, some addressing the high cost of rooms. Seems it depends on the district you pick to stay in. One person suggested the following website: www.paris.crg/hotels/ --for good rooms, priced decently.

Thank you for your suggestion, in fact there are very nice and cheap places where to stay in Paris, but in some cases these small hotels have double rooms, I was trying to find a roommate who to share the expenses with but I can´t find one so far, if you know someone let me know.
THANKS... |
Carlos, do check this web site out. http://www.hotels.fr/. There's the rate and the location indicated and areas you might want to consider. ann

Carlos, I found another website before I went to Europe and it is also a travel lounge but a little differently formatted than this one. Things are categorized and they had a specific forum for roommates in Europe. I will search for that address for you-meanwhile another forum is www.eurotrip.com.
I read that one couple that met on line, met in Paris under the Eifel Tower and are now engaged, so this website might be a good place to start. You might want to post another heading-this time saying LOOKING FOR ROOMATE FOR PARIS IN ______(MONTH) |
Try www.123france.com and www.hotelbook.com (go to the "browse our properties" link near the bottom of the home page). Both sites have a good number of hotels in Paris, in all price ranges, with photos and contact data. Hotelbook showcases 190 Paris hotels.Another site www.webscapades.com is a good one. The hotels may be beyond your intended budget, but there is good "location" info. to assist you in choosing your home base district.

Carlos,
In my opinion, Paris does have better hotel bargains than other large capital cities (like NY and London), but it sounds like you may be in the market for a hostel if you want a roommate and a very cheap room. For "decent" cheap hotels, check out Rick Steves' Europe Thru the Back Door guides or the book "Cheap Sleeps in Paris" by Sandra Gustafson. The WEB site www.paris.org is simply the Paris Tourist Office WEB site and lists ALL registered hotels in the city, with their star rankings and some very general idea of the price range. I've looked at the WEB site suggested (www.hotels.fr) and it does give specific rates, but there are a very limited number of hotels listed on this site (at least, in the lower prices). There are a few good hostels in Paris, espec. in the Marais area run by a group called "MIJE" or something, I think. To check out hostels, go to the Paris Tourist WEB site (www.paris.org), then click on "Tourist Information", then click on the highlighted item "Foyers and Hostels" -- that should do the trick. |
