Skyeurope Flights..How easy to book?
Hello Again:
We must be "snowed in" here as we've never heard of "Skyeurope " flights and the relative inexpensive fares on their website that my husband checked out last night. We've decided to forgo the long train ride and fly between Rome & Budapest. Where can we purchase these flight tickets in Rome? How reliable are these airlnes? Will 5 days advance purchase be soon enough if we get cracking on looking for a "Skyeurope" flight as soon as we get to Rome? We are hesitant to leave our credit card # on internet for booking from Canada. Thanks for helping so much in our planning. It's "very" appreciated . Wish I could help you out more! Ilonka |
Llonca - These budget airlines don't normally sell through agencies, you have to book online. That's how they undercut the competition.
To get their lowest fares you normally have to book months in advance. (If you book at the last minute you won't normally get a good fare). You should book ASAP once you know your dates. Steve |
Hi llonka,
Glad you have finalized your arrangements. Book as early as possible for lowest price. If you are concerned about sending CC information online, and I think that it is no less secure than sending a fax, why not send a note to Skyeurope at *** [email protected] **** and arrange to send the info in two separate emails? |
Ilonka, I just checked the www.skyeurope.com site and verified that they do have secured online booking using an https site. This uses the same sort of security that purchasing from major online stores, such as Amazon uses. They've also gone so far as to show that they have an authentic Verisign certificate. At first glance, it doesn't appear that you get an https site, but that's only because they are using multiple frames on their website, like this forum here does. Basically, laymen's terms, this technology ensures that you're transaction is encrypted and secured and proven through a 3rd party service (Verisign is #1 in secured transaction encryption.) You should be much much safer using their site to book your tickets than you would be by either faxing or emailing, even through multi-part emails. Probably safer even than pulling out your credit card at the airport. |
I purchased tickets from Venice to Vienna for travel in early June. Worked just as well as buying anything else online. Be sure to print out your receipt and/or provide your email address, so they can email you your itinerary. Without it you're sunk.
While I was finalizing travel plans the price went up from E69 to E99 for one way. Oh well, still a good deal. Also, look over their fleet of aircraft in case you prefer only jet travel. |
