Skye - ferry or bridge?

Next week i'll be in Scotland.
I'll sleep in Onich and intend to go to the Isle of Skye.
do you recommend the ferry or the bridge in Kyle?

Personally, I prefer the ferry because it's more like a little voyage, but I suppose the bridge would be quicker.

When we last visited Skye there was no option, the bridge was just under construction. However, a ferry is our choice, truly gives the feeling of being on an island and isolated from the mainland.

There ferry "Lord of the Isles" sails from Mallaig to Armadale. www.calmac.co.uk.

Well - which makes most sense depends on where you are. From Onich it is closer to the ferry at Mallaig so that makes more sense. It is a slower road but still a faster drive than up to Invergarry and across to Kyle.

But in fact most people use both - ferry over and bridge back or vice versa. That way you are not backtracking and can travel two gorgeous roads.
