Skiing in Slovenia or Slovakia

Anyone skied in either of these countries? We are a keen skiing family and are considering skiing here? Don't know anything about these places but prefer somewhere with good challenging slopes? Any advice??? Auss

I find it hard to get much advice/info about ski options on this site. Try j2ski.com I found it by googling ski areas in France and it has info for every country with skiing. If you wind up going, please report back. I'd love to go to that area some year over Christmas with our skiing son.

Slovakia is not known for its great skiing or challenging terrain. Most areas are in the north of the country in the tatra mountains. Perhaps cheaper than most today butr you get what you pay for.
They slowly build an structure for the sport but most exisitng skiing is at relative low altitudes. never been there , this just what I hear as a skier.

Slovenia much better.
The area Kranjska Gora is well known with many lifts and better situation. Even world cup ski races held there now. Previously cheaper prices but this quickly changes. better skiing situation , accomodations etc.
