Ski Insurance for Brit in US

I've got a British friend who lives in London and has a condo in Park City, Utah, where he and his family ski every year. Until now, he has been able to get ski travel insurance at a reasonable rate from a UK company. However, he will turn 66 this year and is now unable to get any ski travel insurance at all due to his having reached this "magical" age. Consequently, if he were to travel to the US without specific ski coverage, he would not be covered for anything related to a skiing accident or any incident which occurred on the slopes.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to where he might turn to get coverage for future ski trips to the US?

Many thanks,
BigBlue

I am also British, though not yet near the 65yo cut-off point.

However, as a keen skier this is something I may have to deal with in the future.

So I googled 'ski insurance over 65' and LOADS of options came up.

How many of the results actually are valid I can't say, but this one looks a possibility as it seems to cover you up to the age of 79...

Actually that website doesn't seem to offer it after all, but scrolling down the google results there are some that seem to...

I've also posted this question on a ski forum I check out from time to time, so if any answers come back from that I'll respond here.

And can I suggest phoning up and talking to American Express? They do tailor-made policies to fit one's requirements as well as the obvious advertised policies. Could be worth a try...

Have they tried Saga? They cater for the older market in lots of fields including insurance.
And odd as it sounds for a 66 year help the aged may have a suitable insurance.

Couple of answers in already on the ski forum, one suggests try Saga who specialise in holidays for the over 50s www.saga.co.uk

(acronym - SAGA = Sex And Games for the Aged !!)

also someone else suggested intunegroup.co.uk

Listen, just because you can't find it online doesn't mean that if you call and TALK to the people involved they won't find you cover.

Signing off for the night, but will post back in a day or so if anything else comes up...

Hetismj - we were posting at much the same time! The Help The Aged website came up with the intunegroup link when searching for insurance!
