Skagen-- Is it worth it?
I'm heading out to Denmark this summer with a friend as part of a tour of Europe and our plans have hit a road block. While organizing our trip, we spent several hours trying every which way to make it out to Skagen from Copenhagen. The problem is that we have only 4 days and limited funds. We considered everything from a combination of trains and ferries to Jutland, to planes, to finally renting a car and driving it. All these things proved to be relatively expensive-- especially taken that we'd only be there a day. Also, we'd be spending half of our stay in Skagen or in transit to Skagen in order to make our flight out of Copenhagen onto Berlin. We've gone back and forth, but I'm extremely reluctant to cut Skagen from our itinerary, so here's my appeal: for those of you that have been there, is Skagen worth the expense or is our time and money perhaps better spent elsewhere in Denmark? If you could just tell me what you personally like (or for that matter dislike) about Skagen, it could help me finally decide. Thanks for your thoughts!
