Six nights in Italy: Skip Venice?

You have all helped me so much!
We decided on Florence for 3 nights at the Hotel Casci, then 3 nights in Rome at the San Carlo.
We are just hitting the big tourist attractions in the cities, with Friday afternoon and evening in Pisa to see the leaning tower and have dinner with our friends and their babies.
Also, I have a picture of my Papa in front of the leaning tower during WWII, and I am going to get the same shot of my husband and have them framed together. Kind of neat, huh?
Now, all I have to do is get through 2 crappy months of winter in Ohio!
