I will be going to Crete from July 8-13 from Sifnos. I think I can make a connection to Iraklion, and then I will go to Chania. What is the easiest way to get to Chania? Then I will be heading to Venice, and am planning to go take the ferry to Brindisi and then train to Venice. Any other suggestions as to what might work better? Budget is an issue. Is there a hotel you can recommend in Iraklion? has anyone been to Spinalonga? Thanks!!

Iraklion-Hania, a bus, they are frequent.

Spinalonga? I forget names of people and places, but if that is the old leprocy colony island, then yes, I have been there.

I am going to be away most of the summer, so what is least expensive-and clean-will be fine. I would like to be near sites to walk to. I wasw in Greece last fall with Collette, so I know many Greeks speak English and are very friendly and helpful. Thanks!
