Singapore Air ?

Just booked flights from JFK to Frankfurt on Singapore Air. How is this airline?

I've flown 2 roundtrips on Singapore Airlines from California to Malaysia. It's an incredible airline, with impeccable service. I don't recall whose rating it was, but I have heard it ranks among the world's best airlines for passenger satisfaction. I was fortunate enough to be flying business class(I used Delta FF miles) and it really was fabulous!

knolanahl,
We've flown the route several times and find SQ great. They're not considered one of best in the industry for nothing.

Universally hailed as the best airline.

I hate flying, but my Singapore Airlines flight to Vietnam last year was almost enjoyable.
(And for me, that's very high praise indeed!)

I wouldn't fly anything else to Asia and wish they still had their Chicago/Brussels flight. Superior in every way.

Consistantly ranked #1. Consider yourself fortunate!

The perfect airline. I wish all airlines were as good. Crew are excellent.

What makes them great? I?ve never ridden them before but after I hear what everyone has been saying I think I will have to do my best to fly with them sometime. But in comparison to other airlines, how come they seem to be a cut above the rest?

In Raffles (Business) Class, the seats are huge and comfortable, great leg room, state of the art personal electronic gear which offers a wide selection of movies, music and games, superb food and wine. On a recent flight, the "Singapore Girl" took our coats and hung them up immediately, returning with a selection of beverages and appetizers before we even took off, as well as the usual (although fantastic selection) of reading material, toilette bag and pillows and blankets. She referred to us by name the entire flight and seemed to know when we needed something and when we wanted to rest. At the end of the trip, we were given exquisite Italian leather passport holders and wallets (with no tacky Singapore Airlines logo anywhere on it). Every plane has left and arrived on time and the equipment seemed very well maintained and clean.

What would REALLY be helpful is if you report back AFTER the flight and tell us if it was as good as everyone says it is.
