We love Rome...fabulous city...and six days is a luxury. There certainly is lots to keep you busy there. Of course, you can always alter your plans, but that might affect the hotels you have already booked.
If you've never been to Florence, you might want to consider five days in Rome and add the extra day to Florence. Either way, it's a great trip.
