Similar cute rothenburg type town btw Berlin/Prague

We are looking for a cute town to stop over for day or night btw our trip Berlin to Prague that is cute and majestic. We don't seem thrilled about seeing Dresden. Any other suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

Sorry but am curious as to why you aren't thrilled about Dresden? Is it because you have already been there?

Try Bautzen: http://members.virtualtourist.com/m/f86bd/129da/
I hope you don't mind that it is more authentic and less touristy than Rothenburg?

If driving, Zittau, Löbau and Bautzen.

I don't know about Zittau, but the other towns will not be quite as preserved as Rothenburg.

Meissen is a short train ride or drive from Dresden and is picture perfect. That way you can still take a peek at Dresden (for a larger city, Dresden is very easy and casual by the way).

Not thrilled about Dresden? LOL

Nobody mentioned Meißen? Pirna still suffers from the flood, so I don't recommend it at the moment.

Another vote for Bautzen. Of course, the town is much larger than Rothenburg. But the old town is stunning.

Be prepared that between Berlin and Prague the architectural style is less timber-framed and more (sand)stone.
