the cost is so high because you'd be calling a mobile number. When I call a mobile number in Spain from the US, the cost is .34/min. If I call a land line, it is .05/min. Natch, I only call land lines unless it's a real emergency.

Thanks, Bedar! I had no idea that the cost was different, depending if you are calling pand line or mobile! Live and learn. In this case, I have no choice, since the Spain Select offices will be closed on the day I arrive, Sunday!

"no idea" because in the USA the cell phone numbers are like landline numbers. Here.. another story, but at least all incoming calls will be free on your Spanish sim card, which is great.
