Hi LoveItaly
>Actually you can have your cake and eat it too. But you cannot eat your cake and have it too.<

Maybe I'm dens today, but could you please explain that?

((I))

PS: It should be "Actually[,] you can have your cake and eat it[, but] you cannot eat your cake and have it[,] too".< :)

Ira,

Were you writing from your studies?

Originally I was going to say something witty about the "advise"/ "advice" thing; but I got sidetracked by ebonics, of which I'd never previously heard. How fascinating is that?

We've probably done this to death, and I know I've mentioned it before, but Edinburgh is nowhere near Edinborough, and you can only spend sterling in Stirling.

On a more serious note, I DO use language properly- no doubt I make mistakes, but I am well taught and I read a lot. And I type typos. I can't seem to get my fingers to put the letters "t" "h" and "e" in the right order all the time.

But I also find as I get older that my fingers type a synonym. I know EXACTLY the right word, and how to spell it, but my fingers type something different. Seriously, they do. I fear this may be early onset Alzheimers- and that't neither a joke nor a flippant comment

Sheila, I know exactly what you mean and suffer from the same problem. I trained as a touch typist many decades ago and have certificates which prove that I used to be able to type perfectly well at 60wpm on an old manual typwriter. However, even though I still type every day and now use a modern pc keyboard, I often find that my fingers no longer automatically type what I'm thinking. Like you, I also find that the little words are often the most problematic.
