Sienna to Lucca
#3
Florence to Lucca is also quite easy by train - around 75-90 minutes. I would avoid using a train to Siena, as the station is some way from the town centre, and it is quite a steep climb.
I was never able to find an easy way from Lucca to Siena: The train meant two changes at Pisa and Empoli, and I was unable to find a bus.
I would agree with the previous poster, both are worth a day. You can always stop off at Pisa on the way to or from Lucca if all you wish to see is the tower (the S.Rossare station in Pisa is only 5 minutes from the Campo dei Miracoli)

Hi M,
Check your map.
Siena (only one n) and Lucca ar different directions from Florence.
I suggest taking the SITA bus (stop is near the SMN station) to Siena and the train to Lucca (stops just outside the walls).
