Siene river cruise.
 

Me and my wife wish to take Siene River cruise in Paris. I read from Trip Advisor that one of the cruise operator permits to get off at any point in between and then board again the next boat to continue your journey.

Pl advise which cruise company provides this facility. Do most of the cruise operators give some time at places of interest to get down and take photographs etc.

Which is best company offering siene river cruises. What os best time of the day to take the cruise.

It's not a cruise line; it's the Batobus, kind of a water taxi.

For actual cruises you stay on the boat. We prefer the evening cruises, when many buildings along the Seine are illuminated. Vedettes de Paris has a convenient departure site.

and never IME pay full price as they are ubiquitous coupons on practically every tourist map you get - such as the ones sponsored by the Galleries Lafayette or
Au Printemps, etc. Even with the France Railpass you may get a discount.

And after taking the various companies I will say IME they are peas in pods - lovely peas in lovely pods.

Vedettes Pont Neuf give a discount if you book online, think the cost is 11 euros..

The batobus isn't a cruise at all, first off, there is no guide, taped or real, so no commentary provided at all.. you float by but you may not know what you are even looking at ( except for a few iconic buildings/sites). Plus Batobus doesn't run in evening and I think its nice to do a sunset cruise.. or to see all the buildings , bridges and monuments lit up.. or the Eiffel Tower twinkling on the hour.

I think it is clear that what the OP wants is the batobus, actually, if he wants the ability to get on and off at various points to take photos. SO I think for this situation, that would probably work, sounds like what he wants.

I'm not sure that the OP understands the difference between a Seine cruise and the Batobus, which is a trasportation option, not a cruise. If he wants to get on and off, then yes, the batobus is the choice. If he wants a cruise, then the batobus is not the option.

Batobus is mainly for Ile de France commuters - it makes little sense for a tourist to use it as transportation. No commentary - just a public transport like the metro.

The information you gave is quite useful. I was not knowing about Batobus earlier. To me it looked quite interesting even for first time visitor to Paris as most of Paris sight seeing locations are close to siene river. People on TripAdvisor have appreciated these rides. Commentary is missing but it is alright for most visitors.

Batobus indeed can be a great way to visit the several major sights strung out along the Seine.

Vedettes Pont Neuf also is (as far as I know) the only operator that allows you to book online without locking in a specific day/time. You just bring your voucher to the ticket boot and trade it in for your tickets when you want to.

This is a good thing, since the weather in Paris can be mercurial, and the cruise is not so much fun in the rain. It's nice to have the flexibility of when to actually take the cruise.

no, I've taken a cruise with Bateaux Parisiens and you can get an e-ticket with them that is good for any time. You do put in a date (not time), but you can actually use it any time, the FAQs say so. They cost 14 euro, so a couple euro more than Vedettes. They depart from Notre Dame or the Eiffel Tower, it's very convenient as it is right off the quay (Latin Quarter side of Notre Dame). I liked their boat a lot.

I am a fan of Batobus--you are given a map and the stops are announced with a very, very brief description. I saw few commuters, there are plenty of seats, good views.

The main advantages are that the stops are very close to the Eiffel Tower, Notre Dame, etc., the ticket is good all day and as mentioned, you can get on and off as often as you wish. Good way to travel on a pretty day.
