Siene Boat Ride
Is it best to do the Siene Boat Tour day or night? Which tour is best? Dinner or not? Thank you much....
|
Go at dusk. Forget dinner. Eat at a real cafe.
|
Night. No food on the boat. There's much better fare to be had. Have a great time!

I second Lisa's answer. I wasn't sure how much we were gong to see at night but the sights were absolutely fabulous at night.
|
.....but may I add, if you don't have time to do it at night, the daytime trip is nice, too.

I have to stand up for the dinner cruise but only the top level prestiege cruise. you are in the front section of a glass boat waited on hand and foot, live music, hand made truffles, cognac, very good food and the best view of paris. NOt to mention a lovely time . I find that many people on this board bash the dinner cruise because it is touristy ( last time i checked i was a tourist ) and it is about 100.00 a person and out of their budget. They served fine wines and champagne and was a great experience.

All: Muchas gracias for the advice....

I wouldn't "bash" the dinner cruise because of it being touristy, though it is that (no oné's denying that - I've been on those boats two dozen times, as a tourist, and love them), but because for the same money you can have a far better meal in a nearby bistro, brasserie, or restaurant. Back out the cost of the meal from the total cruise price and you'll see that you could eat a wonderful dinner at the Brasserie Ile St-Louis, for example, and take a boat ride on the Seine at night and have what in my opinion is a better experience for the same or less money.
