Siena to Rome: train or bus?

I believe both train and bus go in to Rome train station. Are advance reservations necessary for either?

The bus is direct to the Tiburtina station and stops at several places in Siena. The train has a connection in Chuisi but goes to Termini. Your call !

Thanks, Bob - We took the bus and enjoyed a comfortable and uncomplicated journey.

Hoping to take the bus from Siena to Rome.. The Sena bus schedule shows it stops at Tiburtina station two other locations (Salaria - RAI and Salaria lato Lancia 665) in Rome. I can not figure out where these locations are. Can anyone help me with this. Thanks

Hi ew,

Did you look up the stops at www.viamichelin.com or www.mappy.com?

Here I am, from Italy, trying to help you out.

Those locations are not easy to look at on the maps and also on google. Via Salaria is a very big route in Rome, and it's not a very convenient place to take a bus, in my opinion. Anyway, I had a look and Salaria RAI is at km 10+400.

My advice is to take the bus in Roma Tiburtina Station which is also a Station of the Metro (B line if I'm not wrong) very comfortable and easy to reach.
