Siena or Lucca?

Which city to visit? I know there will be votes for both. We want a few days to relax away from crowds. Some things I have read about Siena lead me to think the city is quite touristy and filled to the brim. Relaxation with great scenery is the priority. We only have time for one.

If relaxation with great scenery is the priority, you might want to consider one of the smaller towns such as Montalcino or Montepulciano or an agriturismo in the countryside.

Siena, if you only can visit one.

Lucca is nice in a small-potatoes way, but not what you'd call great scenery (comparatively speaking).

Another vote for Siena, for the same reasons as capxxx mentioned. Sitting on the campo, nursing a drink for 2 hours, and doing nothing can be very relaxing.

Ok, Siena it is! Now, how about restaurant recommendations?
