sieber hotel Prague

Hi has anyone stayed at the sieber hotel in Prague.
Location seems perfect for us for our 20th Anniversary, it is recommended by Czech colleagues. However I was wondering if anyone here has stayed there .

The location is not downtown, you realize..? It is a nice area, though. I've only heard of it, never stayed there. For the prices posted (at least on the ABAKA website), you can get something closer to the city center, especially if it's off season. If you want that area, though, it seems like a very nice hotel. Happy Anniversary!

Hi amp322,
Thanks for the reply,
We will be in Prague from 23rd Aug so I guess its busy then, I don't want to be in amongst the bustle, I like it quiet ish.
I have a corporate rate for the Junior suite so the price is ok.
Thanks for reassurance about the area.
and hotel.
Can you recommend any special restaurants for the big day?

Hi Muck,

Actually, I'll be in Prague from the 24th on! Check out my festival at www.ameropa.org We give classical concerts. On the 24th there's a concert at the Mozart Museum, Bertramka, in Prague 4 (Andel Metro stop). It is not listed on our website, but Bertramka has it listed, I'm sure.

What kind of food do you like? Search some of the other links on here, but there are several restaurants with good views, and high ratings. The swankiest is Kampa Park. Another is "La Perle de Prague", or something like that, in the "Dancing Building" on the river (the modern building that leans in on itself). Hanavsky Pavilon is on the big hill across from Intercontinental Hotel. Great views. Another is at the middle of Petrin Hill (on the funicular stop). I don't have the name, but it is on one of these posts on this board. Post back, if you want more info about anything, or if you want to meet up for a drink in Prague! Cheers! ((B))

Hi amp322,
Thanks for the info, I checked out the website and these concerts appear to end the 8th August, do you mean you are there 24th July or 24th Aug?
Checking out those restaurants now.

Bye for now

Ahhh...! Yes, I'm there July 24 - August whenever I feel like leaving... For some reason I read your post as being there in July. I will probably be gone by the time you arrive. I plan on checking out Poland, also. If you need more help with the restaurants, let me know. I can also post back from Prague, if I get more info while I'm there. Happy planning!

Hi Mucky--we were recently in Prague for 4 days, so have only a limited experience of restaurants. However, we had lunch at Pravda, on Paritzska (SP?) street, which was excellent, so dinner there looked promising. It was a nice-looking restaurant , but there may be others that are more romantic.

Hi
Thanks amp322 I look forward to your post.
Thanks pears43 I will check it out. unfortunately I am not familiar with the streets and I will have to trawl through internet and maps to find it.
Will let you know how I get on.
But I am a bit concerned that If I take her to a romantic restaurant she will think I was up to something.. :-)
lol

Pravda is on Parizska Ulice...
Right off Old Town Square by the Jan Hus monument. Then you could take a carriage ride through the square for maximum romantic ambience... :-) !

Carriage ride..how much trouble will I be in.
I found a site that lists all those restaurants and it says formal dress for some of them, is that the same at lunchtime? I am not planning to take a suit or Jacket. Maybe I should. What do you think?

;-)
