Side trip from Paris

We suddenly have 3 extra days added on to our Sept. Paris trip and are thinking of taking a fast train somewhere for a couple of nights. Any ideas? We will do the close day trips from our Paris apartment.Would any Fodorites like to meet in Paris for dinner? We're there Sept 15-28 (including the 3 days we may venture out).

You'll have already done Versailles, Fontainbleu, Dampierre, that sort of thing? With three days you could get to the Loire, the Champagne region, or even Brittany if you want to.

Got back from Paris two weeks ago. My group took a day trip out to the Loire. I went on a tour to Brugge. I purchased round trip tickets to go on the new TGV route to Strasbourg (2 hr. 20 min each way), but wasn't feeling well so I skipped the trip. Still think that is an interesting day trip to make some time.

Maybe not as interested in a dinner as a lunch? We'll be staying in 75008, Sep 26-29. Write me.

Best wishes,

Rex

Hi Rex,

Forced to spend an additional 3 days in Europe; my sympathies.

About the fastest train going, TGV Est, will get you to Strasbourg in 2:30 hr.
