Sicily v. Sardinia v. Croatia v. Corsica

I am going on my honeymoon this Sept. and we are definitely going to Bellagio, Italy and Florence, but wanted to start the honeymoon off at a beautiful sand beach. Anyone have a preference between the beaches in Sardinia, Sicily, Croatia, or Corsica and if so what cities or towns?

Most beautiful sandy beaches in Sicily are between cities. There are a few nice ones though near or at a town. However, I might be overly fussy because I spend half the year in Florida. http://www.thinksicily.com/sicily/showpage.asp?n=148
This site will help. Hope it works. The other places I can't speak to.

Croatia has relatively few sandy beaches; most of the coast is very rocky.

Thanks for the responses! Does anyone know anything about the beaches in Sardinia or Corsica?

Hi! We are going to Sardinia for a week in June. Have never been, but from what I've read, and the pictures I've seen, the beaches look amazing! We are staying in Alghero (northwest coast), also try Costa Smeralda. Both are supposed to have beautiful, sandy beaches, although Costa Smeralda is a bit more expensive. Hope this helps.

There are beautiful beaches all around Corsica. You may want to consider St-Florent where you can take a boat to one of the secluced beaches along the Désert des Agriates.

There are also beautiful beaches near Porto Vecchio, Propriano and many long beaches very close to Calvi.

Since you are going to Florence and Bellagio, have you looked into beaches along the Ligurian coast?

Thanks for the suggestions! I've already been to Cinqueterra, so I think we are going to go to Corsica. It looks beautiful. Do you know what the weather is supposed to be like in the middle of September?

Hello again. www.weatherbase.com will give you some historical averages, but of couse there are no guarantees.

It is now four years since we went to Corsica, but if you are interested in my travel journal email me at quance_john @ hotmail.com. Spent most of the time hiking but you may get some ideas for restaurants, etc.

Corsica and Sardinia both have wonderful beaches. Sicily will be warmer though.
