Sicily nitty gritty
 

I've read over the posts and found bobthenavigator's 2005 report inspiring. Unfortunately I didn't download it before it was erased...but still took many ideas from it. I have some specific questions about logistics. Am I planning anything that is unrealistic or could be done more efficiently? I want to minimize the hassles of moving from place to place.
In Syracuse we are staying at the Hotel Roma. On the last day, we rent a car from autoeurope at Downtown Corso Umberto.
We drive for one night stay at Hotel Mosaici, which sounds like good restaurant, okay rooms, but can walk to Piazza Armerina in a.m. before tour buses invade.
Then drive to Agrigento (Terrazze de Montelusa, Piazza Lena 6) for one night, tour archeological sights before dropping off the car at Hotel Amici in Downtown Agrigento.
Train or bus? (opinions please) to Palermo, staying at Principe di Villafranca.
If anyone would like to name a favorite restaurant in any of these towns, please do. We are having dinner at Mosaci B&B, but otherwise have no plans.

Thank you. Found bobthenavigator's post and that will be helpful. Also thank you for restaurant suggestions. We'll definitely use them. Should mention because didn't say in my post, we'll be in Palermo three nights.

I would highly recommend a great family restaurant in Ortigia that is across the street from your Hotel Roma on via Roma-its called something like ZAZ or YAZ. Family run,fabulous food, fun atmosphere and great prices-yellow coloed interior.Our daughter studied in Ortigia for a study abroad semester and we ate at this place quite often along with the wonderful coffee place on the corner of the street called Cafe Minerva(take a right out of it and you hit the Duoma and square).You will lose your heart in Ortigia-one of my favorite places in the world!
