Sicily in Sept. or Oct.?

We are planning to tour Sicily in the Fall. I have heard that resorts like Tamorina are closed late Sept. We could do this trip either Sept. or Oct. Any advice?

I dont know where you heard that about late Sept. or Early Oct. but i was there in 2003 during that time and it was packed full of tourists.
That time of the year typically has beautiful weather. In my opinion it is a lovely time to go.

We were there the last week of October last year and the resort towns along the coast from Acireale and Taormina were closed for the winter. You actually can read my description of that plus our trip and photos at www.janeandken.com Just navigate to Sicily which is easy to do. It should help with your planning. We were there for 17 days.

We were in Taormina the first week of Oct. 2003 and it was actually pretty crowded. It was hard to find a hotel so we ended up splurging at the Grand Timeo for 3 nights. The weather was great. If you do a search on this site for Taormina (check your spelling) you'll find good info.
