Wife and I will be in Sicily from 06sep to 16Sep. Looking for a do-able route/places via auto. Any hotels to recmd. also. Grazie Leonardo.Denver

You really need to say where you want to go before people can suggest hotels or advise you on routes. If you have absolutely no idea or preferences about the places to visit and would rather not have to figure it out yourself, you might consider a nice tour the first time you go to Sicily.

Well, I don't know how much you want to spend for a hotel room, but the only hotel I've stayed in in Sicily was the Sheraton Catania, and it's lovely-though built in the 80's- very spacious rooms, bougainvillea spilling off the hillsides-smells of cooking coming from the apts. and houses situated up and around the resort. It's just across the road from the sea, about 3 kg. from the historical center of Catania. Good restaurant-I never had anything but great meals in Sicily. But I think the room rate is around US250/nt. Turning left out of the hotel brings you immediately to a tiny picturesque little fishing village with this beautiful little restaurant right down on the rocks by the sea. Taormina is about a 50 kg. drive, Mt. Etna about a 60 kg. drive. Agricento about a 30 kg. drive.

Um, instead of kilos, make that "km" kilometres. I just checked Travelocity- it appears the best available is US174.00/nt. for that general time period. Check out the website-it's situated on the Cyclops Coast.
