Sicily

We're going to Rome for a couple of days and then joining a bus tour to Sicily for a week. (Will be in Sicily for a week.) Any suggestions regarding anything, including what clothes to bring, for end of April, beginning of May? Thanks.

Thank you Bobthenavigator. The pictures are wonderful. We are really looking forward to our trip.

It should be quite warm in Sicily that time of year. Take a light jacket, shawl or sweater, just in case.
If you don't speak Italian, a phrase book will be helpful b/c English is not widely spoken in Sicily.

Bob,
Beautiful pics.

Bobthenavigator, Thanks for the beautiful pictures. I presume you stayed at Villa Schuler in Taormina? We'll be staying there in May. Anything not evident on their website that we should know about this hotel or the town itself?

Yes, loved Taormina and Villa Schuler. The breakfast on the front patio was superb. Try to get to the Greek Teatro early before the tour bus hordes. And, bus or taxi up to Castelmola above town for fantastic vistas.

Bobthenavigator -- Re bus/taxi to Castelmola, is there parking if we drive ourselves?

Yes--easy deal ! You do have to walk the last 200 yards or so. Have a drink at the local funky bar.

Does anyone have any suggestions as to what clothes to take to Sicily for late April-early May? We're leaving in two weeks, and I can only pack a 21-inch suitcase and a small duffel.
Thanks,
Myra
