Shuttle Inter prices?

I have used shuttle inter a dozen times at least over the last 7 or 8 years {thank you Joan} for varying numbers of family members and the price has always been between 55 and 60 euros. I have just sent a request for pickup on March 13 from CDG to the Hotel le Walt and was quoted 80 euros! Does anyone know if their prices have recently increased? I just used their service in January of this year and paid 55 euros from the hotel to the airport.
Thank you.......Vicki

Their website still has their old rates. 80 euros is for 5 people. I'd question that quote.

How many are in your party? For small groups of 1 or 2 people, this company is about the same as a taxi. For a larger number of people, up to 7, a taxi is usually much cheaper.

There are 5 of us this time..I have had 4 before with no increase so perhaps that is the reason, although I have always had a large van even when I was the only passenger...certainly would easily accommodate 5 people, I don't think a taxi would ..and two taxis would be more expensive, so perhaps I will stick with shuttle inter after all. Thank you for your quick responses! I do want to get this settled soon......Vicki
{p.s. I haven't looked at their website in years...just email from my contacts...perhaps I should have taken the time!} Thanks again

there are scads of van taxis -- the agent directing the taxi queue will ask how many in your party and direct you to the next van.

I don't think a taxi would

Whatever information you might have that leads you to believe that a taxi cannot hold 5 people could not be more inaccurate. As I said in the post above, taxis holding up to 7 people are readily available, particularly at CDG.

I believe tha the Hotel le Walt is in the 7th. I live in the 7th and take taxis frequently from CDG and usually pay from 50€ to 55€. For 5 people, you will pay, in addition to the meter, a 3€ charge for the 4th and 5th person, and a 1€ charge for the second and subsequent bag placed into the trunk.

You should expect to pay 60€ to 65€ for transporting 5 people from CDG to your hotel in a taxi and taxis are always available when you are ready to depart the airport. There is no need to tip the driver but I usually leave an additional few euros if the driver helps with the luggage.

Thank you Sarastro...I have seen the larger van taxis from time to time..I had forgotten. But with 5 people from 16 yrs to 70 {me} after a roughly 14 hrs flying I think I will book with shuttle inter. The approximately 10 euro savings after the extra charges becomes less important! But I am grateful for the info. Vicki

Dear Vmratcliff:

For many years I have used ShuttleInter to get back and forth from CDG to the city center. However, for my last two trips I have only used them to get to CDG; for the trip into Paris upon my arrival, I now prefer to take a taxi.

The last time I booked ShuttleInter upon arrival, my plane was three hours late and the airline (American) gave out incorrect information. Thus, when I finally did meet up with the ShuttleInter driver he was quite frustrated. He did his best not to take out his frustration on me, but at the same time...it was a tense trip into Paris. I felt badly about the situation and decided from then on that it would be easier for me to take a taxi into Paris, and then book ShuttleInter for the trip back to CDG. I've been very happy with this arrangement.

I see many big parties getting into van-taxis at CDG and it appears to me that these types of vehicles are plentiful. I've always found that the taxi line is well organized and moves quickly. Compared to the taxi line at JFK, it's a breeze.

Just my two cents!
