Shuttle from FCO to apt in Central Rome?
Is this a good idea? We arrive at the Rome airport in the evening on a thursday in September. Should I reserve shuttle that will take us directly to our rental apartment in Central Rome? I think it's around 30 euros a person...

That might depend on how many there are of you.
|
You can reserve a private limousine transfer at www.romeairportshuttle.com for up to three people for 40 Euro, 5 Euro more if pick-up is after 10 pm.
|
Why not just take a taxi? The fare from FCO to central Rome is set at 40€ including luggage for up to 4 people.
|
Where is your apartment and what time are you arriving? The sun doesn't set so early and Rome is lively town at night. Were it me, I would take the train into Termini and get a cab there. Cheap, efficient, and if you have any other train tickets to buy, you can do it on the spot.

Book the shuttle door to door--easier and cheaper than train plus taxi.Look at www.airportshuttle.it

Thanks! We ended up booking a car through www.romecabs.com - A recommendation from a friend. 50 euros from FCO to the front door of our apartment in Central Rome, 9:30pm pickup, no stops. A bit more than a shuttle, but should be nice and easy, and hopefully quicker.

Great choice! Stefano is efficient, friendly and you won't regret paying a bit more for door to door service after a long flight. I would use him in a heartbeat
He actually stayed with us until the apartment manager arrived to let us in (about 20 minutes just hanging around waiting). He will call your apartment representative upon departure from FCO to let them know you are on your way so make sure you have a phone number. Ask for gelato recommendations as well as other local info. Have a blast! |
