Phantom, Bombay Dreams?
Hi - we need some help. We will have time for about one show - maybe two. My husband is not into theater, especially musicals, but I love them and he is willing to go.
I have seen all of the NY biggies and some in London a few years back. But, what are your thoughts on the above?
I LOVED Mamma Mia. Who doesn't? High energy, fun stuff is good. Phantom was terrific. A classic. Saw Grease a while back in London. Loved it too.
Would love to see FAME! Did anyone like it?
And, should I order at lastminute.com before we leave on Saturday?
Thank you!

I went to Fame not expecting much, and guess what? It was even less than I expected. The book is simply awful and silly. This English teacher refuses to budge her principals through the show for the dancer who won't study. Another teacher gives her a 10 second speech and suddenly she does a total turn around and can't do enough for him. Talk about insane! I really expected great dancing, but I found it pretty weak there too except for a couple of dancers. Way less exciting or good than the movie or the TV show.
I've never used lastminute.com for theatre tickets but friends who live
both here and in London say that's how they do all their London tickets.
I think Blood Brothers is a good bet -- more story and not really big, but very entertaining. Chicago? Thoroughly Modern Millie? -- tons of energy and comedy there.

I agree that Blood Brothers is fantastic and as it is based on a story about a Liverpool family grest for a trip to England. It is full of laughs and tears. I have seen it 5 times and loved it every time.
I found Fame stage version very disappointing - watch it on TV instead.
Whichever you choose I hope you have a fantastic time.

Last year, I saw Bombay Dreams in London. It was wow, wow, wow! The storyline was interesting, the costumes good and the music great. One of the best things I bought that trip was the CD after the show. The band had Indian-type instruments. Water is used as an accent alot in the show. The show makes you laugh. It makes you cry. You get a different view of another culture What more can you want? I see it again anytime.
