Shower near Gare de Lyon

Four of us are flying into Paris CDG at 11 am and taking the night train to Italy at 7 pm. We would like to shower on arrival in Paris. Any suggestions? Perhaps a specific suggestion for a hotel near Gare de Lyon which would allow this for a fee?

Maybe there's a health club or swimming pool that would work for this?

What airline are you flying? There is an Air France arrival lounge in Terminal 2 with shower facilities. I don't know if you will be permitted without Air France ticket.

The the Paris airports website, there is this referral:

"Services in the TGV station(T-2):
Various services are provided on 4 levels: Information Desk and SNCF Agency, bar, fast food outlets, exchange Bureau, car hire, toilets, nursery and shower facilities ....For more informations, consult the site : SNCF"

I guess you can always go look to find out. There is information on train stations in the "guide du voyageur" on the SNCF web site, then "gare mode d'emploi". THis is the URL for CDG TGV

http://www.voyages-sncf.com/info_res...oport_CDG2.htm

which does not seem to say anything about showers that I can see. They may be more part of the airport than the TGV station.

I'm sure many hotels will allow it for a fee, but it might be a day's room rate. I think any hotel will allow that. YOu could find some cheaper hotel near Gare de Lyon, there are a lot around there.

I didn't try finding info about it on www.sncf.com; you could just ask at an information desk near the TGV station where the showers are.

Or call the Information Services at CDG:
ADP Information Service : Roissy : 33 1 48 62 22 80 (24 hours)

The American Airlines arrivals lounge at CDG has showers. It is free admission for 1st and Biz flyers and for a fee to others; I don't believe you need to have flown AA but not totally sure about that. They also have light refreshments and free local phones. Depending on the fee, it might be most economical for the 4 of your to get a hotel room.

There are shower facilities in CDG (see www.adp.fr) and in Gare de Lyon (underground level, just before the escalators leading to the A to H platforms). But I agree with coco, cheap hotels abound in the Gare de Lyon area, in for less than 50 euros you'll be able to get one room for the four of you and have some kind of base to wear the jetlag off.

The night train at 7pm to Italy, the Palatino Express, leaves Gare de Bercy, a small modern station on the metro a kilometre from the Gare de Lyons, and on three bus routes. You could ask the people who sold you your reservations whether they can transfer you to a compartment with a shower en suite, and if so at what cost.

You might send them a black mark from me. The way they advised you, you would have been in the wrong station in Paris, with bags.
