Shoulder bag restrictions at the Louvre?

Normally I've carried a shoulder bag when I've been there as well as to other museums in Paris, but I know there are security restrictions as to the allowable size of such bags.

My current shoulder bag is 12 inches by 16 inches. Will I be allowed to carry it into the museum? For that matter, will I be allowed to bring it into, say, Musée d'Orsay? The Orangerie? The Pompidou? Musée Picasso?

Any insight would be appreciated. Thanks.

No shopping carts or roll-aboard luggage. Yyou shouldn't have a problem, but of course the bag will have to go through security or be searched.

You shouldn't have a problem with a shoulder or cross-body bag. Back packs have to be checked.

I have replied you in the Vermeer thread, I'll quote here again: the Louvre website states that any bag exceeding 55 cm x 35 cm x 20 cm will have to check into the locker. If smaller than that, you can bring it in. I have been to museums with my small bag/backpack and it's always allowed in.
