Should we stay in Girona overnight?
 

Our family of 2 adult and 12 year old kid are planning to stay in Barcelona for 8 nights during the first week of April. We are planning to go to Figueras and Girona by train. Should I book 1 night in Girona, because I was told that Girona is very nice at night or just do day trip from Barcelona for those 2 towns?

It depends on what you're going to do the whole time. Girona is a good base for stuff outside of Barcelona. But how many times do you want to change accomodation?

I would rather not change the accomodation and was planning to sat all the time in Barcelona and do about 3 day trips (using train) from Barcelona. But my friend told me that we should not miss evening in Girona, so I start thinking about 1 night in Girona.

Hmmm...

Not sure when the latest train leaves from Girona to Barcelona.

Girona in the evening is nice, but I wouldn't go out of the way to only spend 1 night there and have to drag everything around...
