I hate carrying things around when I travel but I must admit that vdeo brings back the experience of travel in away that still photos do not. As above recommend a small mini dv camcorder, and extra batteries. I limit my video time and do not bring the charger, only extra batteries and my Elura.

We have a very small (fits in the palm of my hand) Sony videocam that we have taken to Europe. If you haven't bought or seen a videocam in 10 years, you have no idea how small they are now. Ten years ago, when our first child was born, I spent $1,000 on a videocam that was the size of a football. Videocams are now the same size and cost as a camera.

Thanks everyone for your help. We went and checked out the Sony DVD camcorders today - they are so small and we figure that if my husband carries that and I carry the digital camera, it won't be too bad.
