Should’ve check the forecast first?
sorry..checked
Thanks to everyone who gave me suggestions on where to stay in southern Spain. Excited about going , I booked hotels in Seville and Cadiz without thinking about the weather forecast. Well, at this point it looks sunny, sunny with temperatures in 85+F during my planned visit next week. I know I would not enjoy walking ( or even sitting outside) under those conditions. Fortunately, hotel reservations can be cancelled.. I am working on a different itinerary…perhaps a few more days in Madrid and several days in Valencia. A lesson learned. |
Danon, please take another look. I was looking at weather for Bari and checked Cadiz, too, and I see no days with forecasts for temps over 80F....

I will be watching for a few more days..before canceling. Cádiz is on the sea..temps are usually lower than Seville( apparently, the hottest city in the continental Europe) |
If it's warm and sunny for this time of year that's better than the alternatives. Be happy you aren't seeing severe rain.

My Dutch weather forecast app shows the 6th and 7th @ 27F and after that a very pleasant 24F for Cadiz, and the same for Seville.
I would love to have that sort of weather at this time of year! And as Traveler Nick says be grateful you are not getting severe rain, which large parts of Spain experienced last week. |

the end result is the same😎 We have had unusually warm stretch of weather this summer/ early fall..a record in many years. |
Danon, I am less tolerant of the heat as well these days. ( And I've lived in HOT places) Please refresh my memory as to the temps in your area?
I was in Cadiz in April a couple of years ago & It was quite warm during the day. I do think the breeze/ wind is a factor. Normally October is great in Andalucia & things may vary. I guess the bottom line is how upsetting it would be to you if it were 85 in Sevilla during the day? I could be wrong but Oct should be the transitional month no? |

We visited Seville twice in the last 15 years ,in April. Our summers are usually not hot , with exception of this year. I will be watching the weather forecast and decide . . As I mentioned, I have plan B…a few more days in Madrid and several days in Valencia. Either option will be fine . |
Sea breezes make Cadiz far more tolerable in the heat than Seville.

I made a mistake not thinking about the heat in Seville this time of the year. |
I was there in the summer. It was like walking on the sun.
FWIW, The only thing that really changed for us was, just like all the shopkeepers, we took a midday siesta before returning to the streets. |
