Oops, I owe a big thanks to denis for advice on a trip in the fall of 2004 to Prague. denis gave me excellent directions on how to get from railway station to my hotel using the metro, so I would not have to take a cab. I did it, travelling alone, and thank you very much - better late than never. p.s. I loved Prague.

I think it is highly appropriate for the OP to acknowledge replies with a thank you. How else are responders to be encouraged to continue doing so?

Trip reports are not a favorite of mine but I do like to see people who had some special experience, good or bad, report on that either in the original thread or, if truly spectacular, by starting a new post.

I wish there were some way to encourage "newbies" (a distasteful and demeaning word) to participate on a continuing basis to bring new insights. I would much prefer they do that than do a trip report on a one time basis.

In business a rule of thumb was that 20% of your customers gave you 80% of your business. Here I think 5% of the posters provide 95% of the activity. Even good insights can become boring if repeated often enough.

OK...I am guilty. I never post trip reports. I just don't have the patience to write one and I am usually onto planning the next trip. :-]

I do, however, love to share when specific questions are asked. I guess this is when I share from my previous trips.
