Well - in June the chance of bad weather isn;t as frequent as in the winter. But if you Delta flight is delayed and you miss the Aer Lingus you're just out the money for that RT flight. And will have to buy a ticket for whatever flights they hae at whatever price.

So - I wouldn;t do this unless you have a LOT of time between your Delta landing time and your Aer Lingus flight time (like 4/5 hours at least). Without that you have to decide on the level of risk you're comfortable with.

You could check on the on-time percentage of that particular Delta flight - to give you a better set of data to guess from.

Musicteacher! Book that flight for us, OK?!!!???!! Because when I punch in our dates, the cheapest flight on Alitalia is $950 per person. Same as every day I've checked since forever. Let me know how you got the fare and I'll be all over it.

Oh, and do we have to fly into Rome? No. Have I tried every darn city in Italy for cheaper flights? You bet I have!

Delta flies nonstop from JFK to Rome, Venice, Milan and Pisa/Florence-isn't there anything cheaper than booking on two different airlines and the hassles?

Uh, no. Hence the purpose for this post.

You know it is possible that somebody may just find a cheaper fare for you IF you would let us know the EXACT dates you want to fly rather than the vague "in June."

I say this with the greatest of respect for you and because there are obviously LOTS of people here who have been/are willing to stop what they are doing and LOOK on your behalf..so why not let them and why not equip them with the correct information?
