And for goodness sake, what are these "pants that look like pajamas" anyway? Aren't they pajamas? I always assume so when I see them. Don't let the fact that Walmart has some ingenious marketing idea convince you that they're anything BUT pajamas. And don't accept fashion advice from young people. Before you know it, you'll be wearing your jeans around your knees allowing us all to see your stylish boxers.

I am not quite up on the fashion of today so maybe someone can correct me BUT my kids tell me that these flannel checked pants are MORE appropriate than sweat pants. Perhaps those thinking of these as pyjamas just aren't "hep" or "with it" or "rad" or "phat" or whatever the word-of-the-day is.

Sorry robjame, but I agree with Balenciaga on this one. I would not want some guy sitting next to me on a plane in his pj's. It's just icky. Get dressed - you're out in public for cryin' out loud.

robjame, if it makes you feel any better, I actually wore mine to the laundrette in Paris!
But my goodness, if you've seen what Paris Hilton wears to get on the plane then I think we're all safe!!
Balenciaga!! LOL!

gomiki - I did sse the numbers and copied them down and thank you for the info.
Balenciaga - I only wish that I could make "enough" of an impression that someone could tell.
Despite the great arguments on both sides of the question, I really don't think I would have the ..... let me put that another way ... I don't think I could really do it. We are upstairs in a 747 (BA sleeper seats) so it is more private but I think my self-respect or self-consciousness prevents me from actually wearing them. As well, what would I do with them at my destination - I am in Paris with my wife!

Are they anything like those red and white plaid golf trousers men used to wear in Europe to make them stand out like a sore thumb?
Seriously, it sounds kind of creepy to me, and I don't think any guy should be walking around anywhere in an outfit like that except maybe in West Hollywood.

I always wear a really nice outfit to the plane, and no make-up. The minute I am on the plane, I change into pjs and go to sleep, usually hanging my outfit (if it isn't wrinkle free) up where the flight attendants tell me. Then, at breakfast time I get up, change into the outfit, brush my teeth, do full make-up, and walk into the destination looking as fresh as I wish.

OK - perhpas I'm just behind the times - and I don;t care what kind of pants men wear at the mall (which I avoid - the mall, not men) - but pants have zippers, or perhaps metal buttons on some jeans. If there is an opening but no zipper they ARE pajamas - and you shouldn't be wearing them beyond the front lawn to pick up the morning paper.
(If teenagers do it - well - they also may have purple hair and VERY personal piercings. You only get to wear PJs as pants if you do that too.)
If you want to be really comfy on the flight - and don;t care how you look - just wear sweatpants.
And I agree with Balenciaga - in either case you shouldn;t be going commando.

Like laclaire, I am hoping to wear a nicer outfit on the plane and change after dinner. I found a great pair of long, loose leg, yoga style pants at the local Ross store. They look nice and are super comfy. I don 't think I'm brave enough to wear my PJ's, but I don't have a problem with others around me wearing theirs. At breakfast, I will change back into my nicer outfit and add a touch of make-up.

LOL!
First off, I think the original poster should post a link to a site that shows what these pants look like (or a close version of them). If these are lounge pants, they really are no different than sweat pants. they are comfy and they really don't look like PJ bottoms (not thin fabric, dont have a buttonless fly, usualy have a draw string).
These are only being called PJ's b/c the poster said he wears them as PJ's, just as many do w/ sweat pants. these are fine to wear in public and its about what you want. They are not offensive and revealing... they are just very casual like sweats.
Now that said, I wouldn't wear them b/c it isn't my style. But dude, go for it! These are not PJ's and age makes no difference in my book. Do what you want provided you are not exposing yourself.
