Short walks in Dolomites (Italy)

Hi We are group of 10, Planning a trekking trip to Dolomites in June/July this year.
We will be going for a week. Need some suggestions on best one day walks. Also where to stay.
We prefer self catering accomadation.

Thanks

An excellent book for planning hikes in Val Gardena is "Shorter Walks in the Dolomites" by Gillian Price (Cicerone Press). We like to stay in Selva for easy access to the great hiking trails via the Ciampinoi and Dantercepies lifts that are within easy walking distance of anywhere in the village. But any of the three villages in Val Gardena would be fine. The bus system and lift system is wonderfully interconnected. For self-catering apartments in Selva, I would highly recommend Residence Cairn (http://www.residencecarin.it/en/apartments.html)
