short trip to Paris

Could someone please name the more convenient areas of Paris to walk to most attractions. I have done a search and come up with hundreds of hotels but confused about the neighborhoods. hotel recommendations would be good as well. thanks in advance.

We have found the St. Germain area, the 6th Arr., to be the most accessible to tourist locations and Parisian life. We usually stay the Hotel Rue D'Buci, just off the Blvd. St. Germain.

Easy walk to Notre Dame, the Louvre, the D'Orsay, Luxembourg Gardens, and the Metro/RER. The neighborhood has plenty of cafes, such as the well known Cafe Des Deux Magots and the Cafe Flore.

I totally agree with Ryan. The 6th Arr
is charming and well-located. My little
hotel is just 2 blocks from his -
L'Hotel de Nesle. It is tiny and charming, but does not have some of the
niceties you might want, such as: phone,
elevator...forget about tv!
However, I will be going back there within a month.

Happy Travels.

Beth: Your hotel sounds lovely. Does it have a web page? What are the rates? I am looking for a ** in that same area. Thanks.

Beth my hotel is always Hotel Danube, which I adore!!

But for a cheaper alternative, I stopped by De Nesle. Great street, I do have a question when I have emailed about reserving they never respond.

Is it the type of establisment that does not take reservations?
I am not that brave to arrive in a city and HOPE they have availabilty. Hi Doc,
I stay at the Hotel Bonaparte, 61 rue Bonaparte, in the 6th. It has A/C, elevator, en suite bathroom, bkfst in the room, abt 100E/dbl.
They do not have a web site (not needed). Look them up at
http://www.voila.fr/PJ/
