Short Barcelona Stay
First time to Barcelona. I have hotel Continental reserved for 2 nts. Arriving in city around 6:00pm, figured I would do Ramblas first night, then a day long bus tour next day winding up in front of the Cathedral where they folk dance on Wed evenings, then next day see as many museums as I can, leaving around 2:oopm for airport.

Can you suggest a better itinerary? Thanks much.

I'd highly recommend the Casa Milo (go on the roof) and Sangrada Familia as musts as well at the other Gaudi and Moderiste architecture. Also, the Picasso Museum in the Bari Gothic near the Cathedral is very worthwhile. If you're a Miro lover, The Fundacio Joan Miro is open late on Thur. nights and the sunset from there is fantastic. Also, Parc Guell--another Gaudi creation, is terrific.

Barcelona has so much to see. Have a great time.

Paula: Thanks, will get off the bus for the Gaudi architecture and follow your suggestions.

Hi Sharon,
Sounds like an excellent itinerary to get an overview of the city.
We too stayed at the Continental (would definitely stay there again just for the location) did the Bus Touristic tour (be sure to take the northern route first) and saw the Sardana danced in front of the cathedral - which is a must as far as I am concerned.
Be VERY aware on Las Ramblas. We didn't have any problems (two ladies travelling together) but keep your cash and valuables in a body belt and don't wear any expensive looking jewellery.
You will visit Barcelona again to be sure!
Regards
Maggie.

Maggie: Thanks for the input. I'll start the Northern bus route first and as I'll be alone, will be AWARE. I plan on using a money belt. Sharon
