Shopping Question

Does anyone "bargain" with jewelry stores or ceramic stores in Italy? If not, do they have things at discount or is it always at full price? I haven't read anything about this subject, so I'm not sure what to expect.

Thanks! :D

I've only seen bargaining at outdoor markets as a general rule. However we bought a few hundred €s of ceramics at a nice shop in Positano and were able to do a tiny bit of bargaining. I believe the woman knocked off about 5% and threw in a pretty little vase.

if you are buying alot of items just ask what is the best price you can give me for all of this. or: if I buy this and this how much will this one be?

venezzia, We were able to bargain with both jewelry and ceramics by offering to pay with cash rather than a credit card. Deborah

Thanks Deborah - that is good advice to use cash as a bargaining tool :)
