shopping in paris........help

A year ago I stayed at le Meridien hotel near Montparnasse train station and on the same side as the hotel i found this little shopping center. Can't recall the name but in there I found a store selling cheap clothes and a few household essentials. Adjoining that store was a smaller one selling face products, cosmetics, perfumes and other toilettries. Looks like a pharmacy but it is not. Turned out that both stores are one and the same because they both used the same checkout machines (cash registers). My probably is not remembering the name of the store and my husband will be in Paris in two weeks and I NEED to send him there to buy some things which I got there before. The store is on same side as the Le Meridien Hotel across from Gare Montparnasse and the store is located on the upper level ( I think). I need your help. Hope my information is correct. Just so you know there was another store in that same shopping center. They took up two floors. The upstairs had sports gear and the lower level had household items such as washing machines and other appliances. They also had small electronics such as cell phones. You can see I am trying real hard. I need your help.

I don't know what kind of store you are really looking for, but that is a shopping mall called Galerie Gaite Montparnasse.

Does this store have bags with ugly pink checks on it? If so, it could be Tati, they have a branch in there and sell cheap clothes and various household items. I don't know about cosmetics, though. That branch is one of theirs called Tati Mariage.

I think it might be tati. The smaller door was adjacent to the big one using different entrances. Only had a security guard inside so i had to make my selection and go next door to pay. A lot of the goods were really ugly and dirt cheap. Overall store was cute though. Checkout lines were long. Patrick I went on the site but unfortunately I do not speak french so as soon as I get a hold of hubby (who speaks french) we will navigate. Thanks.

That certainly sounds like Tati. Here's the photo page from pagesjaunes.fr:

bunny, it doesn't remind you anything? Those pink checks are Tati's signature.

Sounds like Tati but there are others resembling that.
