Shopping in Paris on a Sunday

Can anyone tell me what the shopping is like on a Sunday? Are any stores open and if so what area? Any info would be greatly appreciated.

The general rule is that everything is closed. In fact when big stores decide to be open they need to pay a penalty to the government since it is against the law... Some intercity supermarkets, and small shops are open on Sunday morning.

Market streets: Mouffetard and Montregueil are open Sunday am (food and hardware)

Flea markets are open.

Before xmas the big department stores have Sunday openings (need to call, read the ads to see when and which ones).

Many stores in the Marais are open Sundays, especially around the Place des Vosges.

Sunday is a fun day to combine Marais shopping and Musee Picasso.

As mentioned, the Marais area, and the large flea market St Ouen-Clignancourt, are quite busy on Sundays.
If you want a lunch in some of the known and popular places in the Marais or Ile St Louis on a Sunday, it's good to book ahead.
