Shopping hints please

I'm going to be in Paris for a week in April. My husband's never been, so we will be spending most of our time seeing the major sights, but I want to get in some shopping. I'm particularly interested in small decorative objects for the home and jewelry (not expensive, pieces under $100, particularly earrings and watches. Any suggestions?

If you're only in Paris for a week, there is no point in running around to different shops. You can probably find everything that you need at the department stores of Boulevard Haussmann. Both Galeries Lafayette and Printemps have entire buildings devoted to housewares and decorative items.

For earrings hand made from beads of glass in a tiny shop: Dona Giacometti at 6, rue St. Sulpice in the 6th arrondissement.

Interesting jewelry of various sorts: Metal Pointu's, with several locations throughout Paris: 13 rue du Cherche Midi (6th), 13 rue du Jour(1st), 9 rue de Charonne (11th), 19 rue des Francs-Bourgeois (4th), and 2 rue du Marche St. Honore (1st).

For colorful handmade pottery, mostly from the South of France, La Maison Ivre, 38 rue Jacob (6th).

For more pottery and crafts from the French countryside, La Tuile a Loup, 35 rue Daubenton, in the 5th, near the bottom of rue Mouffetard.

There's a really fascinating (and not very expensive) jewelery store called Satellite on rue des Francs Bourgeois, across the street from Musee Carnavalet in the Marais--lots of interesting earring. Rue Francs Bourgeois is just east of the Place des Vosges, which is probably on your list of sites, so it wouldn't be out of the way.

It is SO easy to shop in Paris ... as you walk down the streets you will look into windows and see all sorts of wonderful things that you will want.
Small boutiques on the Left Bank have great unique pieces of jewelry, Henri Gautier on rue Jacob is the source of some nice handmade earrings that I was gifted with a couple of times, you can get great things for your home..easy.
The hard part is not shopping all the time :D

There's a passageway off rue St. Andre des Arts in the 6th that has a very beautiful if expensive jewelry store. Also on the corner of rue Dauphine and rue St. Andre des Arts, there's a fantastic earring/bracelet store that sells silver and gold jewelry from all over the world.

Satellite is a great boutique. I bought a necklace and a pair of earrings there when I was in Paris this past December and have received numerous compliments every time I where them.
Luckily, the purchase came with a one year guarantee because when I arrived back home (New York), I realized two of the stones were missing from an earring. I went on their website thinking I would have to send the earring back to Paris for repair or replacement and voila, they had just opened a store on West Broadway in Soho. I visited the store and they replaced both earrings with a new set at no charge!
