This thread is actually pretty amusing - the "daft" old people who have trouble making it to the toilet, versus others (presumably younger) who have paranoid issues of their privacy being infringed upon. How depressed they must be if they deal with online sites like Amazon, Facebook, Twitter, etc. Heavens, even the grocery stores must be an ordeal for them, with cameras hovering overhead.

Maybe reading some more of Orwell's prolific works might better ready you for the dreadful years ahead. Daft!

A couple years ago, someone applied for a CC in my name.
They had all the necessary information including my passport
number(?) . My signature on the aplication was a perfect forgery.
I had no idea how all of that was obtained.

I fear if persons ( other than the gov.) wanted our " private"
information , they would be able to find it.

the dafts are the ones who think they know everything
and have no compassion

how does one gain entry to the lounge?

pariswat Nov 20th, 2015 01:23 AM

You can't. It is an old club kept open for the old guys :-) but no longer available to new entrants.

So it will turn soon into a geriatric club...
They will need to change the name from Lounge to Asylum.

colduphere Nov 20th, 2015 01:43 AM

To be accepted you need to fail a series of tests.

vincenzo32951 Nov 20th, 2015 03:57 AM

One of those tests is a willingness to be part of the Lounge.

Hello?

Hello?

No, it is not fat Adele, but Thin!

>Greenwald moved to Brazil<

Um, yea, Einstein because his husband, David Miranda, is Brazilian.

>Maybe you should read Orwell more prolific works to ready you for the dreadful years ahead<

What, like the "Road to Wigan Pier"?

That just readies me to believe there will be a major class war in Britain in the next 10 years.

Orwell wrote that the British middle classes hate the working classes because they stink from manual labor and have atrocious accents, say "bover" instead of bother.

Are Muslims more accepted in Britain if they were at Roedean and shop at Farmacia Santa Maria Novella on Walton Street, London?

Fear of the Other is the problem, not religion.

Thin, the anti-Adele

fuzzbucket Nov 20th, 2015 10:04 AM

Thin - do you fear fat people?

pariswat Nov 20th, 2015 10:27 AM

Elle est morte-adèle.

kerouac Nov 20th, 2015 10:54 AM

No female kamikaze after all. Her body was intact. The blown up person was a man.

fuzzbucket Nov 20th, 2015 11:24 AM

Now they're saying the mastermind blew himself up. Presumably, she chickened out and was trying to escape. Her body was found under the floor that collapsed.

At this very moment - at the time of the attack on Stade de France - Paris is supposed to be full of people out on terraces and in the street, making music, noise, turning on lights and carrying candles to celebrate the lives of those who died. My neighborhood is completely silent and the terraces are empty.

pariswat Nov 20th, 2015 12:03 PM

For those who find unacceptable that there is so much talking of Paris and not of other countries : rejoice !

TV are only talking about Mali rught now.

flpab Nov 20th, 2015 12:09 PM

I don't think her body was that intact since her head was found in the street according to one newspaper.

RIP Diesel, the bomb dog that lost his life that night. I had to put that in for Kerouac since he thinks it falls under my kitty has a tummy ache.
fuzzbucket, Vacation in Paris is offering 40% off apartments due to cancellations.
I know military bases have told their people to stay out of Paris till the 30th. I would think today being a week has people on edge. It would me.

fuzzbucket Nov 20th, 2015 12:33 PM

flpab - the female kamikaze's complete spine was supposedly found intact on the street as well - according to The Guardian.
Me, I'm depending on local TV channels in Paris.

Though my neighborhood was empty, many people were at Republique, where one cafe treated the crowd to a round of free beer. There was also a gathering at Stade de France and a moderate crowd at Bataclan, but that's all that was shown on TV.

kerouac Nov 20th, 2015 01:21 PM

Just this morning, I saw on a website that her head went flying out of a window when she blew up. The media have a fantastic imagination.

Pepper_von_snoot Nov 21st, 2015 06:40 AM

Yes, I am afraid of fat people.

I am afraid they will eat me when Old Country Buffet is closed.

I am terrified Adele will wear my Brioni opera cape as a scarf.

Tomorrow I leave London for NYC, then drive to my cottage in the Poconos.

I just can't wait to see those American flags snapping proudly in the wind!

Fortunately, my cottage is protected by Smith & Wesson and I can shoot straight even after three Stoli martinis.

Goodbye Europa!

Thin

"Tomorrow I leave London for NYC, then drive to my cottage in the Poconos."

Enjoy! On my trip back to PA last month, I had a great day trip to Jim Thorpe with my high school friends. The fall colors were wonderful. We took the obligatory Asa Packer house tour and then had a lovely lunch (and several well-mixed cosmos) at Tony Stella's Encore.

Pepper_von_snoot Nov 23rd, 2015 05:13 AM

>Asa Packer Mansion and Tony Stella's Encore<

That is the uncanny of the uncanny and the bizarre of the bizarre because:

1. My old friend was a tour guide there many years ago.

2. I know Tony Stella. He went to high school with my ex-husband's friend Tracy. He used to run a restaurant in Luzerne County called Good Fella's.

PS We call Jim Thorpe Mauch Chunk.

I just sent my gardener to Cabela's for ammo as my neighbour is Fethullah Gülen, the Turkish imam in exhile and he expects trouble.
