Shoe Shopping in Madrid?
I am spending this weekend in Madrid with a friend and would like to do a little shopping. Last year in Barcelona, I found some great Spanish-made shoes.
Any suggestions on stores or neighborhoods to check out for mid-priced shoe shopping (Campers and the like)? Thanks! |
Hi Jess,
try Augusto Figueroa street in Chueca. Caligae carries Farrutx and the likes at 40% less, but there are plenty of shops in the street. If you are lucky enough to have a 37 (european size), you might be able to find a great bargain. http://www.softdoc.es/madrid_guide/s...rtunities.html Rgds, Cova |
jess_march,
If you're looking for the Camper brand, you can find 2 Camper stores downtown in the Gran Vía-Sol area, on Gran Vía 54 and on Preciados 23. In the upscale Barrio de Salamanca shopping district, you can find them on Ayala 13 and Serrano 24. All of the Corte Inglés department store branches have a Camper boutique. There's the huge El Corte Inglés right above the Puerta del Sol. For my shoes, I go to the huge branch of El Corte Inglés in the northern business district, up Castellana Blvd, to Raimundo Fernández Villaverde (metro: Nuevos Ministerios). I think their selection is nicer, with higher end brands. But I wear classic brands like Acosta and Yanko. I buy them in the Salamanca district. My Acosta shoes and bags come from their boutique on Hermosilla 36. There's a Farrutz in that neighborhood on Serrano 7, but you won't find bargains. |
My girlfriend swears by the shops on Augusto Figueroa. A mandatory stop each time she is in Madrid. I, on the other hand, run screaming at the sight of a shoe store.

Wow. Thanks for all of the tips guys! Sounds great and, as a matter of fact, I am a size 37! What luck!
I think it should be lots of fun, and I plan to spare my male companion of this part of the trip. He'll be working that day anyway! |
Hi Jess,
well thought :) Augusto Figueroa is located in Chueca, the gay neighborhood, and I don't know why, but many men I know don't feel good about gay men and lots of women buying shoes :)) Bye, Cova |
