Ships from Vladivostok to Alaska

I will be taking the trans siberian express from moscow to vladivostok and I would like to take a boat, ship, barge, from there to Alaska, and henceforce through Canada, down to Las vegas, on to New Nork and then back to my starting point; Oslo, Norway. Does anyone know of any way to get from Vladivostok to Alaska by ship? (In August)
All suggestions welcome!!! Thanks, jan

There certainly aren't any scheduled shipping lines, the only ocean connections might be some fishing vessels which operate out of Vladivostok which might call at one or two of the Aleutian Islands, probably only in case of emergency or as part of the (dwindling in number) fishing joint ventures between Russian and US companies. Even in those situations, though, you'd still be 1000+ miles (1700km) from Anchorage and the highway system connecting to Canada and the south.

There are passenger-carrying freighters from Japan to the US or Canada, and at least there used to be ferries from Vladivostok/Nakhodka to Japan, so it might be possible to put a route together avoiding air travel, but it wouldn't likely include Alaska.

Interesting question, though. Where's Michael Palin when you need him?
