Check your state's laws! They supersede Federal laws. States that produce their own wines tend to be very strict. Arizona, for instance, does not allow you to carry in, or ship in, any wine! Not one bottle! They will confiscate all wine upon arrival.

You're kidding! Strange that we have a wine industry in NY but can bring wine in; ditto California. That is really annoying for those that live in Arizona.

<< I would hope someone would know what they were doing before... bring[ing] wine back from Europe... >>

Why? such naysaying? You have to "know what you're doing" to bring back three bottles of wine (that you tasted in Europe and you know that you enjoyed them)? What's to know?

Taste. Drink. Buy. Bring it home. Go back for more. Rinse. Repeat.

Oh, Rex, you inserted "..." and left out the word "shipping" which was the main gist of my post, considering shipping costs along with customs costs, not to mention the hassle vis-a-vis the cost of the same wine if you could purchase it in the States.

Of course, if you want to carry wine back, bring back vino da tavola if you like it. :-) ((b))

It may have been the "main" gist of your post... but the way you wrote it, it looks equally down your nose at the practice of bringing wine home.

I may have written it poorly, but you took it out of context to make "your" point. The OP is concerned about "shipping" wine home. I think he now has enough information to make an intelligent decision. :-)

Enough said. ((b))
