shipping items from Rome to USA

Headed to Italy next month and would love to ship back some sauces and wines. Does anyone know what we can/can't ship back to the USA?

What state do you live in? Most restrictions on wine are by state, not federal, law. For instance, if you're in Utah, shipping wine is a felony. You can bring a liter back yourself. Alcohol shipping laws are (deliberately) beyond the comprehension of mere human minds.

Maybe Wally will chime in.

We're in Atlanta, GA. Where to go to find out what Georgia (or any state for that matter) will allow?

Hi MS,

What kind of sauces? :)

Shipping costs will eat up any savings that you might get on buying wine in Italy.

It's better to bring it with you in your luggage.

Bring bubble wrap.

You can also purchase styrofoam shipping containers for your wine.

PS,

Georgia doesn't permit shipping wine to residents unless the shipper has purchased a permit.

Hardly anyone does.
